Couplings

Servo Couplings

Today’s servo applications are more demanding than ever. The precision positioning requirements and high reverse load characteristics of AC and DC servomotor applications necessitate a servo motor coupling design that specifically addresses the needs of these sophisticated systems.

Composite Disk Couplings

Zero Backlash Composite Disc Couplings (CD® Couplings) from Zero-Max were designed to be a higher performance option necessary in these most demanding operating conditions that involve repetitive stopping, reversing, indexing, and misalignment, without sacrificing on performance. Zero-max created the patented composite disc pack to provide the versatility and performance that is needed above and beyond metal disc coupling’s abilities.

Flex Shaft Couplings

Flexible shaft couplings transmit torque between two shafts and accommodate misalignment between the shafts under various load conditions. Misalignment can result in costly maintenance, and eventually reduce the life of bearings and accuracy of your encoder. Flexible encoder shaft couplings offer zero backlash and can accommodate a variety of misalignments and load conditions.

Schmidt Couplings

Schmidt offset couplings enable a variable parallel offset between two shafts. They are adaptable to wide variations in radial displacement while running under load. Invented in the early 1960s by Richard Schmidt, and added to the Zero-Max line of flexible shaft couplings in 1984, Schmidt couplings were originally developed under commission from NASA for use in propulsion systems for rockets in zero-gravity environments.

Torque Limiting Coupling

Torque Limiting Coupling

Zero-Max’s Torq-Tender overload safety devices incorporate torque limiters for dependable overload protection. When a jam-up or excessive loading occurs, the built-in torque limiter will reliably and quickly release to prevent system damage.
